Help

With your help

We are helping some of the most vulnerable people in Uganda escape the poverty trap. We focus on DEVELOPMENT and not on AID. We have adopted this approach as we believe that being caught in poverty trap does not equate with a lack of skills or intelligence. Sometimes all that is needed is a hand UP not a HANDOUT.

We attack the poverty trap on two fronts – Nutrition and Education. These two factors are linked. We provide access to high quality, tasty and high nutrition food. We support education, both academic and vocational, as a steppingstone to financial and social sustainability.

Those with whom we work extricate themselves from economic and social vulnerability through their own hard work, skill and zero compromise dedication.

How we work

Process
Community Collaboration

We work with vulnerable communities, not for vulnerable communities. The people with whom we work own their situations. We support them in finding appropriate and sustainable solutions. They implement their solutions with their own energy and abilities.

Local Partnerships

FAMMI does not have all the answers. FAMMI does not have all the expertise required to achieve its vision and mission. FAMMI does not have unlimited resources. For this reason, we develop synergies with local partners. Together, we offer a resilient response to the people we serve.

National Talent

Our team is made up almost entirely of Ugandan nationals. They know the national languages. They understand the cultural norms. The possible barriers that could be present with the employment of foreign field workers, are eliminated. FAMMI presents a Ugandan response to a Ugandan need, implemented by Ugandans.

Why Support Us?

Solving social problems requires leaders from foundations, businesses, nonprofits, and governments to reimagine the systems and relationships that shape our world. We strive for a deep understanding of how to create social change.

One Person Cannot Change the World,
but YOU Can Change the World for One Person
