What is Micro Finance?
Microfinance is a general term used to describe the provision of financial services to entrepreneurs and small businesses, in the low-income sector, that do not have access to traditional banking services.
Microfinance is built on the conviction that low-income individuals are capable of lifting themselves out of poverty if they are given access to financial services.
Research suggests that microfinance can play a major role in the battle against poverty but it should not be seen as the only tool for ending poverty.
